SWIMMING TEACHER
Location: Kingsbury Leisure Centre - Kingsbury School
Salary: Grade G, point 12 – £14.82 per hour (excluding holiday pay), enhanced to £16.64 (including holiday pay).
Employment type: Casual. Working hours: weekdays, evenings and weekends.
Responsibilities
- Deliver swimming lessons at school and for private sessions, catering for learners from beginners to advanced.
- Plan, set up and prepare for lessons, keep equipment tidy during and after sessions.
- Administer registers, assess for Swim England distance badges and water skills badges, and communicate progress to parents/carers.
- Work independently and take direction, collaborating with other swimming teachers and lifeguards.
- Possess knowledge of safe working practices within a swimming pool.
- Occasionally attend full staff meetings and training sessions (NPLQ training) to support a positive working environment.
Qualifications & Experience
- Current NRASTC (with renewal as required).
- Enthusiastic, experienced and well‑organised swimming teacher.
- Qualifications considered: SEQ Level 2 Teaching Swimming Qualification, STA Level 2 Award in Teaching Swimming, STA Level 2 Certificate in Teaching Swimming, National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches, Baby & Pre‑school.
- Applicants holding an NPLQ qualification are encouraged to apply for a combined Swimming Teacher & Lifeguard role.
