Freedom Leisure’s Tenterden Leisure Centre is seeking a Swim Teacher to deliver swimming lessons across ages and abilities. The role offers casual hours with a focus on safety, progression and excellent customer service. Training is provided and an Enhanced DBS check is required.

Applicants should have a Level 2 swimming teaching qualification and be able to communicate well with children and parents. The centre offers a supportive team and a welcoming community environment.

Qualifications

• Teach swimming to children and/or adults according to qualification, training and experience.
• Communicate with children’s parents/guardians about development and progression.
• Assist in supervising customers in pool and surrounds, ensuring safety and discipline.
• Excellent communication and a genuine desire to work with customers.

Tenterden Leisure Centre provides an exciting range of activities for residents and visitors alike. Including a leisure pool, a fitness suite, exercise studios and sports hall providing a wide range of activities. The centre also boasts a lovely café providing a focal point for the community.

In the role of Swim Teacher, you will deliver swimming lessons to customers of all ages and abilities ensuring they feel supported and are achieving their goals.

Hours: Casual hours, as and when required.

• To teach swimming to children and/or adults as part of the Leisure Centre’s swimming lesson programme, according to qualification, training and experience


• To communicate with the children’s parents/guardians concerning their development, and advise on their progression through the programme


• To assist in the supervision of customers in the swimming pool and surrounds, ensuring their safety and discipline


• Excellent communication skills with a genuine desire to work closely with customers.
