Job summary

Freedom Leisure in Dorchester is seeking a proactive Swim Teacher to deliver swimming lessons for all ages, helping learners achieve their goals with supportive coaching. You’ll be part of a friendly team committed to inclusive, safe sessions and excellent customer service.

We require a Level 2 Swim Teaching qualification, ability to communicate with parents, and a commitment to safeguarding with an Enhanced DBS check. Casual hours and training provided to help you thrive here.

Qualifications

• To teach swimming to children and adults according to qualification, training and experience.
• Communicate with children’s parents/guardians concerning their development and progression.
• Assist in supervising customers in the swimming pool and surrounds to ensure safety and discipline.
• Excellent communication skills with a genuine desire to work closely with customers.
• Enhanced DBS check is required.

We will provide all the training needed to be a successful Swim Teacher but we also believe that employing people from a mix of employment backgrounds can offer a wider benefit to our team, some of which might be in their first ever job and need more support from their manager and colleagues.

In the role of Swim Teacher, you will deliver swimming lessons to customers of all ages and abilities ensuring they feel supported and are achieving their goals.

Hours: Casual hours, as and when required.

• To teach swimming to children and/or adults as part of the Leisure Centre’s swimming lesson programme, according to qualification, training and experience
• To communicate with the children’s parents/guardians concerning their development, and advise on their progression through the programme
• To assist in the supervision of customers in the swimming pool and surrounds, ensuring their safety and discipline
• Excellent communication skills with a genuine desire to work closely with customers.
