The Role

Assist the Sports Centre Manager in providing, maintaining, and developing the learn-to-swim programme in a safe environment. Deliver effective swim teaching to provide a friendly and positive experience for all customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high standards in swimming instruction, ensuring safety and compliance with legislation.
• Conduct swimming lessons and monitor safety and customer conduct.
• Be proactive in customer service, ensuring prompt lesson start and equipment management.
• Follow the Swim England Learn to Swim Programme, planning and delivering lessons accordingly.
• Create a fun and motivating environment, encouraging participation and development.
• Assess participant abilities, keep records, and provide feedback for improvement.
• Supervise assistants, manage course administration, and attend meetings and training.

Skills and Qualifications

• ASA / Swim England Level 2 Certificate in Swimming Teaching or STA Level 2 Certificate.
• Experience in a similar role and knowledge of the Swim England programme.
• Ability to teach groups of mixed ability and age, with good swimming techniques.
• Strong communication skills, reliability, and team support.
