Job summary

The Perse School Cambridge is seeking a Swim Helper to support the Swim Teacher in delivering safe, engaging lessons and to assist learners in the water.

This zero-hours role offers consistent after-school and weekend slots, with hours including Monday and Friday 15:30-18:30, Wednesday 16:00-18:30, and Saturday/Sunday mornings. Applicants must be 18+ and committed to safeguarding children.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and effective assistance to swimming lessons under the guidance of a Swimming Teacher.
• Carry out instructions from Swimming Teachers safely and accurately.
• Maintain high standards of the swim school at all times.
• Provide a welcoming class atmosphere and interact with pupils in a friendly, positive manner.
• Organise learners, relay instructions clearly, and keep learners focused.
• Assist learners in the water with confidence building, floating and basic swimming techniques.
• Set up and tidy away equipment before and after lessons.
• Follow safety protocols and safeguarding policies at all times.
