We are currently looking for experienced, energetic, and enthusiastic Swimming Coaches to lead and coach the Swimming Squads, including the Masters Squad, within the performance training program. We seek individuals with a proven track record of coaching and developing performance age group swimmers. Responsibilities include planning, coaching, and evaluating your own squad of swimmers. Candidates must hold the ASA or STA Swimming Teacher qualification, as well as the RLSS National Pool Lifeguard qualification, and be able to pass BPL's water safety test.

Job Purpose and Main Aims

Lead training sessions and provide performance coaching. Experience in swimming teaching/coaching is essential, along with RLSS lifeguard or teachers rescue certification and a valid first aid certificate.

Specific Responsibilities

• Organise, instruct, and supervise swimming classes according to the timetable set by the Head Coach / Head of Performance Swimming, tailored to the needs of individual groups and swimmers.
• Develop structured schemes of work and lesson plans following recognised governing body guidelines.
• Conduct additional training activities related to Long Term Athletic Development, including fitness conditioning.
• Collaborate with aquatic team staff to enhance swimming opportunities across the organisation.
• Assist in promoting and publicising activities and events associated with the role.
• Perform all duties in accordance with BPL policies on equality and health and safety.
• Ensure timely completion and submission of registers, assessment forms, and other documentation.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to the BPL code of conduct, including safeguarding children and vulnerable adults.
• Attend relevant meetings and stay informed about developments in swimming, health and safety, and legislative changes.
• Handle, erect, dismantle, and ensure the safety and proper storage of equipment.
• Work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, and cover for holidays and sickness as required.
• Perform any other duties that are consistent with the role and assigned by management.
