Qualifications

  • Advanced verbal and written Swedish ability.
  • Experience teaching Swedish, preferably to adult groups.
  • Enthusiasm and up-to-date knowledge of the subject.

About the role

Are you a dynamic and innovative Swedish Tutor with a passion for teaching adult learners? Then why not join the thriving Languages department at our 'outstanding' Ofsted rated College, helping to bring together people across London and beyond, and to enrich lives through learning.

The department offers courses in over 30 modern and ancient world languages, including Swedish, catering to all levels, from beginners to advanced, with both online and classroom formats, ranging from daytime, evening and weekend. This role will play a key part in enabling learners to develop their Swedish language skills and communicate effectively in real life situations.

We are currently seeking a Swedish Tutor for:

  • Swedish advanced: module 1, starting in October, 1.5 hours x 10 weeks, online delivery in the evening (details to be discussed at the time of interview according to availability, with the possibility of teaching further modules from January 2026 depending on enrolments)
  • Swedish beginners: module 3, starting in September, 11 weeks, Tuesdays, 18:00 -19:30, online delivery (possibility of teaching further modules from January 2026 depending on enrolments)
  • Swedish beginners: short introduction, Saturdays, 10:30 - 12:00 over 5 weeks, face-to-face delivery.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Advanced level of verbal and written Swedish, with the ability to converse at fluent speaker level.
  • Experience of teaching Swedish, ideally to groups of adults.
  • Up to date knowledge, enthusiasm and interest for the subject.
