A leading social care agency is looking for an experienced Fostering Social Worker to join their Connected Carers Team in the North East on a locum basis. The role involves conducting viability assessments and supporting family/friend connections in their transition to becoming carers. Candidates must hold a degree in Social Work, be registered with the relevant authorities, and have experience in fostering. Competitive MOU rate for 37 hours per week.

About the role:

We are looking for an experienced Fostering social worker to join a Connected Carers Team on a locum basis.

A requirement is for the applicant to have experience working within Fostering and to have a good understanding of the role within a Connected Carers Team.

You will complete Reg 24 viability assessments and Full Connected Carers assessments to support children to live with those connected to them through family/friendship.

You will support, supervise, and complete reviews with Connected Carers, helping them through the transition from being a family member or friend to a carer.

What you need:

  • A degree in Social Work or equivalent
  • Registered with Social Care Wales / Social Work England
  • Completed relevant post-qualifying training
  • Enhanced DBS check
  • Excellent communication and written skills
