Job description

Job Description

BrightStar Care has established its brand as the premium quality offering in the home care industry, emphasizing our unique clinical model of nurse-led home care and non-Medicare home health. Each BrightStar agency employs a local R.N. as Director of Nursing and earns Joint Commission accreditation.

The SVP, Clinical Operations, is a member of the Executive Leadership Team. Reporting to the CEO, this individual must be a credible clinical leader and champion for the clinical platform underpinning the brand, defining brand standards, policies and procedures, new clinical products, and improved processes while also leading the operationalization of quality at the local level.

This executive must also possess strong business acumen to bridge business and clinical processes, while also demonstrating the ability to drive revenue growth and improve patient outcomes. Experience in both in-home personal care (non-skilled) and skilled nursing (e.g., infusion, wound care) is required; pediatrics experience is a plus. Experience in hospice care or Medicare is not necessary.

This is a remote role in the United States.

Responsibilities
  1. Develop and lead the overall clinical strategy and platform development for BrightStar care.
  2. Plan and execute all clinical quality programs, including policies, procedures, compliance, and documentation to ensure network quality.
  3. Lead, manage, and hold accountable the franchisor team of nurse clinicians supporting local DONs to achieve operational excellence, accreditation, and brand standards.
  4. Determine KPIs for the clinical team and drive continuous improvement.
  5. Engage with franchisees and local DONs to champion BrightStar’s clinical vision and develop the DON community through presentations and visits.
  6. Partner with Product Development for Skilled, Non-Skilled, and Staffing lines of business.
  7. Collaborate with technology teams to improve platforms, EMR adoption, and best practices to enhance quality, outcomes, and profitability.
  8. Work with operations to create and implement processes that bridge business and clinical needs, ensuring optimal patient outcomes and agency profitability.
  9. Develop clinical quality training curricula and supervise regional clinicians for consistency and quality.
  10. Deliver content for regional and annual meetings.
  11. Manage compliance and QA processes to maintain clinical quality standards.
  12. Facilitate integration of evidence-based skills and standardization of nursing policies.
  13. Contribute to marketing communications to promote BrightStar’s clinical reputation.
  14. Participate in franchise development by presenting our clinical platform to prospective franchisees.
  15. Manage relationships with accreditation bodies and industry associations, seeking new external partnerships.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership in clinical management.
  • Experience in private pay, non-medical home care, or home health care, preferably skilled services.
  • Hands-on experience with a leading EMR product.
  • Experience with accreditation processes, with Joint Commission accreditation preferred.
Education
  • Active, unencumbered R.N. license in at least one state.
  • Advanced degree (MBA) and additional certifications are strongly preferred.
Skills and Abilities
  • Proven ability to drive change and adopt new products/processes.
  • Ability to lead office-based clinical staff and influence the DON community.
  • Excellent communicator, capable of linking clinical outcomes to financial results.
