Job description

Deloitte's Sustainable and Resilient Supply Chain capability operates within its Risk Advisory practice, assisting clients in developing and executing strategies that promote sustainability and resilience, thereby adding business value and mitigating risks. Our team collaborates with clients to identify sustainability risks, enhance supply chain transparency, and foster innovation across the value chain. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Supply Chain Sustainability Expert to help clients meet their sustainability objectives, particularly in engaging suppliers and partners to generate impactful outcomes.

The successful candidate will advise clients on creating and implementing comprehensive supply chain sustainability programs, ensuring key suppliers adhere to sustainability standards, and supporting compliance with environmental topics such as decarbonisation, product passporting, due diligence, and traceability.

General: Extended Enterprise

Within Extended Enterprise, we undertake diverse projects assisting clients with third-party relationships—ranging from risk assessment and due diligence on individual suppliers to managing extensive supply chains, all aimed at embedding sustainability and resilience. We address various regulatory, reputational, operational, and ethical risks.

Responsibilities

The core responsibilities of the successful applicant include:

  1. Advising clients on developing and executing supply chain sustainability programs focused on decarbonisation, circular economy transformation, and capacity building for suppliers to meet regulatory standards like Digital Product Passports and Supply Chain Due Diligence.
  2. Supporting clients in helping suppliers meet sustainability and compliance standards across ESG areas.
  3. Building and maintaining strong client relationships, fostering positive partnerships with suppliers, and clarifying expectations.
  4. Assisting clients in developing and implementing circular strategies to minimize environmental impact throughout the product lifecycle.
  5. Staying informed on the latest trends, best practices, and regulatory developments related to circular economy and decarbonisation activities.
  6. Enhancing the technical knowledge and capabilities of junior team members involved in sustainable supply chain projects.
Preferred Requirements
  • Extensive experience in sustainable supply chain or related fields, ideally within consulting or corporate sustainability functions in sectors like Consumer Goods, Industrial Products, Pharmaceuticals, or government.
  • Deep understanding of circular economy principles, use cases, and strategy development.
  • Experience engaging with suppliers to create sustainability impacts and demonstrate benefits.
  • Proficiency in data collection and supplier engagement on decarbonisation, traceability, circularity, and compliance.
  • Experience working with suppliers in emerging markets or complex supply chains.
  • Strong knowledge of sustainability risks, regulations, and management practices.
  • Experience conducting risk assessments, audits, and developing sustainability strategies.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to identify risks and develop strategies.
Qualifications and Experience
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Supply Chain Management, or related fields is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Relevant certifications such as CSCP or SCPro are advantageous.
