Procurement Strategy & Services is part of the Finance, Strategy, Planning & Analytics Directorate, established to help the University deliver best value from its spending.
The primary role of Procurement Strategy & Services is to collaborate with Faculties, Departments, and external organizations to achieve key goals:
Procurement Strategy & Services oversees the effective procurement of equipment, products, and services, ensuring best value for money from the university’s £300 million non-pay budget and compliance with statutory obligations. The department also manages commercial risks and evaluates the supplier base.
About the role:The Sustainable Procurement Project Officer will collaborate with staff and suppliers to achieve the University’s Sustainability Objectives, particularly advancing procurement goals outlined in the Climate Action Plan.
You will serve as the main contact within the Procurement Team for sustainable procurement inquiries and assist in gathering information for sustainability rankings, league tables, and key reports such as the King’s Sustainability Report and SDG Report.
You will review procurement policies to ensure alignment with corporate objectives and best practices through collaboration with relevant colleagues inside and outside King’s.
This is a fixed-term 18-month contract for a significant sustainable procurement project. Flexible working arrangements, including part-time options, are available depending on the candidate’s ability to meet outcomes.
