Job summary

Buckinghamshire Council is seeking an experienced flood risk or drainage professional to lead the Sustainable Drainage Team within the CCFRM and LLFA framework. You will guide technical officers on surface water drainage for major developments and work with planning partners to ensure climate-resilient, sustainable growth across Buckinghamshire.

The role combines technical leadership with strategic influence, requiring experience in development planning and the ability to manage competing

Qualifications

• Proven ability to lead technical staff and teams.
• Extensive knowledge of SuDS, surface water management and flood risk.
• Strong understanding of planning system and LLFA role.
• Experience with major development proposals and strategic sites.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership on drainage and flood risk matters for developments.
• Collaborate with planning officers, developers and other authorities to promote sustainable drainage.
• Shape local planning policy and support Strategic Flood Risk Assessments.
• Drive service improvements and strategic direction for flood risk management.
