Our client is a forward-thinking engineering consultancy and they are now seeking a talented and BREEAM accredited Sustainability Consultant to join their rapidly growing team. The client:

They are an engineering consultancy based near Reading, specializing in delivering high-quality and compliant design solutions across a range of sectors. With a strong focus on sustainability, the company provides expert consultancy in environmental design, energy efficiency, and sustainable building practices. They work closely with clients, contractors, and design teams to achieve both functional and eco-friendly outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage BREEAM assessments (New Construction, Refurbishment, Fit-Out) from pre-assessment through to post-construction stages.

Deliver sustainability consultancy services aligned with BREEAM, WELL, LEED, and other environmental certification frameworks.

Develop and produce sustainability strategies and supporting documentation for planning applications and project development.

Collaborate with design teams, contractors, and clients to integrate sustainability principles into project delivery.

Support with energy modelling and daylight analysis where required.

Keep up to date with relevant legislation, industry best practices, and policy changes.

Liaise with local planning authorities and certification bodies as needed.

Requirements

Degree in Sustainability, Environmental Design, Architecture, Engineering, or a related discipline (Bachelors or Masters).

Minimum of 3 years' experience in a sustainability consultancy role with a strong track record of delivering BREEAM-certified projects.

Qualified BREEAM Assessor.

Good understanding of UK planning policy, building regulations, and environmental assessment standards.

Experience using sustainability software such as IES VE, DesignBuilder, or One Click LCA is a plus.

Excellent communication, presentation, and report-writing skills.

Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
