Job Description:

Sustainability Officer

Team: Operations/Sustainability

Responsible to: Head of Sustainability

Purpose: Support the implementation and management of the sustainability plan aligned with the England Golf Strategy 2025-2030 to educate and influence on sustainability.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

• Support the implementation of the England Golf sustainability plan 2025-2030.
• Coordinate education and engagement of internal and external stakeholders.
• Contribute to sustainability promotional campaigns with the communications team.
• Assist in collaborating with the R&A on sustainability projects.
• Support carbon reduction initiatives across the organization.
• Help ensure sustainable practices at the National Golf Centre.
• Identify and implement workplace greening strategies.
• Educate and guide golf clubs on key sustainability issues.
• Support the organization’s sustainability awards and financial planning.
• Deputize for the Head of Sustainability as needed.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Educational attainment demonstrating role competence.
• Understanding of golf facility management and sustainability practices.
• Strong relationship-building skills.
• Excellent communication and public speaking skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
• Ability to produce detailed reports and analyze information.
• Experience in sustainability, environmental science, or related fields.
• Budget management experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Degree in relevant fields such as environmental sciences, management, or sustainability.
• Experience with carbon footprinting.

Location & Working Arrangements:

Based at England Golf Headquarters, Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshire, with hybrid working or remote options. Expectation to spend 2-3 days biweekly at headquarters.
