We are delighted that you are interested in this role of Sustainability Manager at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust.

It is an exciting time for the Trust as we continue to grow and develop to meet the needs of the 900,000 population we serve.

North West Anglia Foundation Trust are seeking to appoint a Sustainability Manager to implement our green plan and to transform sustainability across the three sites at Peterborough (excluding Peterborough City Hospital), Stamford & Rutland Hospital and Hinchingbrooke Hospital.

The Trust has aspirations to become one of the most sustainable Trusts in the NHS and there is significant scope to improve our sustainability performance.

Job Summary

We are looking for an individual who, whilst adhering to our Trust Values and Behaviours, will drive transformational change in sustainability and Carbon emissions. You will have a passionate commitment to providing excellent, quality services in an acute healthcare environment, both as an individual and as a team player.

You will possess a ‘can do’ attitude and have the ability to get things done effectively, efficiently and right first time. You will need to be flexible in your approach and the job will entail travel between sites to ensure we are working to the required standards across the Trust.

You must have a passion for sustainability and the drive to make a difference.

Responsibilities

Be the Trust-wide lead and provide expert knowledge on all aspects of environmental sustainability which will require making judgments involving complex facts or a situation which relate to environmental sustainability - requiring analysis, interpretation and comparison of a range of options.

The post holder must have a passion for sustainability and will be responsible for driving the implementation of the Trust’s Green Plan. It is essential that the post-holder progresses the organisation toward Net Zero and decarbonisation.

They will be responsible for sustainability at the following locations:

  • Peterborough Hospital
  • Hinchingbrooke Hospital
  • Stamford & Rutland Hospital
  • Community Estate

We are committed to supporting colleagues through organisational change. Priority will be given to staff at risk within North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust and Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Integrated Care Board.
