Who We Are

Frazer-Nash Consultancy is a Management & Engineering Consultancy. Through our meaningful innovations, our experts help organisations make lives securer, safer, sustainable and affordable.

In a nutshell, our consultancy is all about providing advice to positively impact our clients’ projects and businesses and the wider world around us.

Why Frazer-Nash?

As a graduate, you will typically be working on multiple projects simultaneously, managing your time and rapidly accruing a wealth of experience and skills. Hence, no two days in Frazer-Nash will be the same. You will be surrounded by experts not just in your team, but also in a wide range of other fields – whether it’s digital or engineering, we’re an interesting bunch.

We have a comprehensive Early Careers package that will enable you to successfully integrate into our business and meet new colleagues from across the organisation. We will provide you with the relevant training and experience to allow you to excel in your career and offer a variety of accredited courses from industry recognised bodies.

The Team and Role

You will be joining as a Graduate into our Sustainability and Environmental Assurance Group, a growing team of environmental and sustainability experts, that deliver projects across the UK and internationally. The team are distributed across the Frazer-Nash offices, though this role is initially offered based out of Bristol.

As a member of the Sustainability and Environmental Assurance Group you will work on a variety of projects across Defence, Energy, Government and Industry. These could range from the development and implementation of Environmental Management Systems (EMS) for £Multi-Billion acquisition projects to supporting clients to develop decarbonisation strategies, roadmaps and transition plans. You will support our clients to characterise, and understand, the organisational risks presented by a changing environment and the opportunities available through the global transition to Net Zero.

To support your development as a rounded individual in your early career, we would encourage you to work on a range of projects and build a diverse skillset in a variety of sectors. As your experience grows, we will trust in your capability to take a lead on the technical and commercial aspects of projects. As they arise, we will also offer opportunities for you to work in embedded roles on nationally significant projects to enable you to gain hands‑on experience of how these projects operate and progress.

You will receive a mixture of on the job, internal and external training, as well as mentoring and coaching, to support your development into becoming a well‑rounded consultant. You will also be supported to achieve professional accreditations with a relevant organisation such as ISEP.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for individuals who would like to pursue a career in environmental and/or sustainability disciplines that reflect the breadth of capabilities we have in the team. These span environmental management, permitting and assurance, and sustainability, carbon and climate advisory. Please make it clear in your application which capabilities most interest you and where possible link this with your degree(s) / any relevant work experience.

We require you to have obtained a 2:1 Degree or Higher within a related environmental or sustainability focused degree, or relevant engineering degree. We regularly deliver work for Defence and Nuclear, so an appetite for work in these sectors is important.

As a consultancy, we are looking for highly motivated, innovative, organised and inquisitive people. There are some key skills that set the basis for a successful career in consultancy, so we’d love to hear examples of how you can demonstrate the following.

  • A confident communicator: with the ability to clearly convey outcomes with internal and external stakeholders who may be in a technical or non-technical role. A high standard in both written and verbal communications, with excellent attention to detail, is required.
  • A critical friend: with the ability to build and foster relationships that help us understand needs, priorities and drivers – enabling us to deliver more impactful work. To develop your network to enable us to increase our visibility and impact across high profile organisations and Government.
  • A proactive self-starter: with the ability, initiative and enthusiasm to take ownership of any of the tasks ahead of you. Recognising the need to get the project done and delivered to the client, project or team to a high standard to create an impact.
  • An evaluator and problem solver: with the ability to critically question what you see, to solve problems that build on your technical understanding, evaluate information by understanding context and risk to make effective, informed decisions. Creating original and creative ideas through exploration and abstract thinking.
  • A collaborator: with the ability to work with others, including those with different technical backgrounds. Build effective relationships through thriving in social settings and adjusting behaviour to suit the situation.
  • A multi-tasker: with the ability to support multiple projects concurrently through solid organisational and time management skills, capability to work both autonomously and collaboratively, providing regular updates and feedback.

Above all, a willingness to seek out problems to solve and new ways of solving them. The ideal candidate should thrive in an environment characterised by undefined asks and frequent changes. They should be willing to adapt to situations and maintain composure as they arise. This role requires stepping out of one's comfort zone and embracing change to deliver challenging projects.

Due to the nature of the work that Frazer‑Nash Consultancy undertake, candidates will be required to undergo pre‑employment screening and will be required to satisfy clearance criteria for UK National Security Vetting.
