About the Role
We’re looking for a proactive and community-focused Recycling Support Officer to join Bedford Borough Council’s Waste and Resources team. In this role, you’ll engage with residents, schools, landlords and local businesses to promote better recycling habits, support the introduction of new waste schemes and help reduce contamination across the borough. You’ll be out in the community, delivering campaigns, collecting data and supporting real environmental change.
About You
You’ll have a strong interest in sustainability and waste management, along with great communication skills and the confidence to speak with a wide range of people. Whether you’re a recent graduate in an environmental subject or someone with experience in a similar role, you’re passionate about making a difference and ready to take the lead on local engagement. You’ll be organised, tech-savvy and happy working both independently and as part of a team.
