  • Stay ahead of emerging sustainability trends, legislation, and innovations, ensuring WJ remains a leader in the sector.
  • Work closely with our products, engineering, and innovation teams to integrate sustainability into product development and operational strategies.
  • Engage with external stakeholders, government bodies, clients, and sustainability organisations to champion WJ’s commitment to environmental and social impact.
  • Represent WJ in industry forums and working groups, influencing policy and driving thought leadership in sustainable highways solutions.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A passionate and strategic leader with a proven track record in sustainability, ESG, or environmental leadership within products, engineering, manufacturing, or infrastructure.
  • Demonstrable experience in driving sustainability programs, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder engagement at a senior level.
  • A natural influencer and change leader, able to engage internal and external stakeholders to embed a sustainability-first culture.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing Sustainability or related strategies and policies. Preferably from an Engineering, Manufacturing, Infrastructure industry
  • A deep understanding of UK sustainability legislation, reporting standards, and industry best practices.
