Job summary

Riverside is seeking a Sustainability Coordinator to support the Climate Responsibility Strategy and Healthy Homes Plan. You will work with the Sustainability and Investment Planning Team to implement actions and monitor progress across Riverside's housing portfolio.

You will coordinate Riverside's externally owned solar PV portfolio, engage with customers and partners, maintain records, and support CPD initiatives. A focus on data, reporting and continuous improvement is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Climate Responsibility Strategy and Healthy Homes Plan.
  • Coordinate Riverside PV portfolio and liaise with customers, colleagues and agents.

  • Handle energy-related enquiries with clear guidance and signposting.
  • Maintain accurate records and data integrity for reporting.
  • Assist with budget management and asset expenditure controls.

Job description

Job Title: Sustainability Coordinator

Contract Type: Permanent

Salary: £29578.70 per annum

Working Hours: 35 hours per week, full time

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday

Location: Arlington, Camden

Support the Sustainability and Investment Planning Team with the implementation of sustainability objectives. Support the research, development and implementation of actions, processes and projects that enable the Group to achieve its sustainability targets.

Role Profile
  • Support the delivery of the Group’s Climate Responsibility Strategy and Healthy Homes Plan.
  • Coordinate the management of Riverside’s externally owned solar photovoltaic (PV) portfolio and act as the primary point of contact for managing agents. Liaise with customers, colleagues, contractors and managing agents to support enquiries, secure timely access arrangements, and facilitate maintenance activities. Maintain accurate records, correspondence and activity logs, ensuring that actions, access arrangements and outcomes are appropriately documented and evidenced in accordance with organisational procedures.
  • Coordinate and promote continuing professional development (CPD) opportunities on sustainability-related topics across the organisation, supporting colleagues to develop the knowledge and skills required to contribute to Riverside's sustainability objectives.
  • Answer energy-related enquiries and requests effectively, providing clear, supportive and accurate advice, action or signposting, and escalating complex queries through the appropriate channels to ensure effective resolution.
  • Maintain accurate records using appropriate systems and databases, ensuring data integrity and quality so that regular analysis and reporting can be completed as required.
  • Assist with the management and reporting of budgets, including processing payments and ensuring Asset Management expenditure is managed in line with the Group’s financial controls.
  • Assist in the management and resolution of customer complaints.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and procedures.
  • Ensure requirements and proposed solutions are captured effectively during meetings, and follow up with attendees to confirm that they are clearly understood and align with business processes, standards and service quality.
  • Monitor implementation progress, report on risks and keep relevant reporting lines updated.
  • Support sustainability colleagues in the development, delivery and monitoring of projects, including undertaking research.

  • Retrofit, including energy efficiency measures, funding streams and data analytics
  • Energy efficiency advice and affordability
  • Climate resilience, Biodiversity and nature-based recovery solutions
  • Electric vehicle charging and fleet decarbonization
  • Sustainability reporting and metrics, including SECR, and ESG reporting
  • Sustainable procurement and supply chain sustainability measures and carbon emissions
  • Net zero carbon in new and existing homes
  • Renewable energy and low carbon heating systems
  • Healthy and Modern Homes
  • Indoor air quality, including damp and mould issues and ventilation measures and strategies
  • Hazard prevention in homes
  • Liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including customers,colleauges and third party suppliers providing advice ,support and building constructive working relationships.
  • Ensure effective communication and engagement activities are delivered to key stakeholders, with progress updates and key messages communicated regularly.
  • Carry out research to support self-development and increase understanding across the business of innovative products and procedures, the impact of new and upcoming policy, and changes in the operating environment.
  • Use this insight to contribute to the development, review and effective application of sustainability policies and procedures, identifying where changes are required in response to legislation, policy updates, or customer and stakeholder needs.
  • Contribute to the production of accurate and timely reports for key stakeholders.
  • Respond flexibly to changes in work priorities and undertake other duties as required to support the effective operation of the service.

Person specification
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential
  • Knowledge of, or an interest in, sustainability, construction, renewable energy, housing or a related sector.
  • A relevant qualification, or working towards a qualification, in sustainability, environmental management, housing, construction or a related discipline.
  • Strong customer focus, with the ability to understand customer needs, resolve issues and identify practical solutions that deliver positive outcomes.
  • A personal commitment to diversity, treating others with dignity and respect, with a genuine desire to understand and meet diverse customer needs and aspirations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to build positive working relationships with colleagues and customers, including the ability to persuade and influence others.
  • An excellent team player who can work flexibly to meet business requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • Academic or practical working knowledge of at least one of the sustainability areas listed above or a willingness to learn
Desirable
  • Experience of supporting the delivery of a corporate sustainability strategy across a large and varied portfolio of assets.
  • Understanding of building physics.Experience of using a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems
  • Proficient in analysing and evaluating complex information, measuring the impact of initiatives, developing appropriate strategies and action plans, and presenting findings clearly to a range of audiences.
  • Knowledge of EPCs, retrofit, renewable energy or net zero programmes
