We are looking for a Sustainability Consultant to join our team to help us deliver our real estate Green Building Certification services.

We are a Sustainable Real Estate consultancy, guiding clients on reducing their environmental impact. We specialize in green building certification, building performance, and Net Zero Carbon planning across the asset lifecycle.

About the role

You will be part of our Green Building Certification (GBC) team.

This is a full-time hybrid role, with regular presence required in London for team meetings, site visits, and industry events.

The candidate will be part of a team delivering projects with a strong focus on refurbishment and fit-out. Fit-out experience is essential.

Each GBC team member acts as a "Project Coordinator" and should be capable of coordinating multiple deliverables, either directly or with the wider Verte team.

What we are looking for

Essential skills & experience:

  • Licensed BREEAM Assessor and/or SKA Assessor
  • 3+ years of consultancy experience
  • Experience delivering SKA assessments (licensed or not)
  • An MSc and/or BSc degree
  • Ability to manage sustainability certification schemes: BREEAM, WELL, Ska, Fitwel, LEED
  • Experience working on fast-paced fit-out projects
  • Experience working closely with contractors within tight schedules
  • Ability to assess barriers quickly and identify solutions
  • Client-facing, excellent communicator capable of discussing topics like Net Zero, Circularity, Wellbeing
  • Capable project manager, coordinating multiple project deliverables
  • Good understanding of real estate drivers and sustainability interactions
  • Experience in bid work
  • Excellent research and analytical skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Understanding of Net Zero Carbon, NABERS, and ESG principles
  • Experience with planning submissions, especially GLA requirements
  • Licensed SKA Assessor (training available)
  • Qualified as LEED, Fitwel, WELL, BREEAM In-Use, BREEAM AP
  • Experience with LCA and LCC using One Click LCA
  • Experience collaborating with contractors and supply chains
  • Experience formulating sustainability strategies
  • Knowledge of Circular Economy principles
  • Salary range: c. £35,000 - £45,000 p.a., depending on experience and seniority
  • Remote working (must live within commuting distance to London)
  • 25 days' annual leave plus 3 additional days over Christmas (bank holidays excluded)
