Job summary

Hoare Lea is seeking a Sustainability Consultant to join our established Sustainability team in a Bristol-based role with Plymouth/Exeter considered for the right candidate. We deliver environmental and wellbeing assessments across sectors, focusing on innovative, sustainable design and operation.

The role offers a dynamic, collaborative environment within a leading UK practice, with opportunities to lead projects, mentor colleagues, and advance industry knowledge.

Qualifications

• Proven track record delivering environmental and wellbeing assessments (BREEAM/WELL/HQM/fitwel).
• Experience achieving high BREEAM/WELL certification levels.
• Qualified BREEAM assessor or WELL AP preferred.
• Strong understanding of UK building design, construction, and sustainability legislation.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of environmental and wellbeing assessments from early design through to completion (BREEAM, WELL, HQM, Fitwel).
• Develop and train junior staff on technical requirements related to environmental assessments.
• Coordinate design and post-construction assessments across various building typologies.
• Lead workshops with design teams to drive sustainable outcomes and credit attainment.
• Provide practical guidance to clients and multidisciplinary teams on ratings and strategies.
• Develop trackers and documentation for BREEAM/WELL/fitwel throughout projects.
