An established industry player is seeking a passionate individual to lead climate and sustainability initiatives. This role involves coordinating programs in line with Council policies, developing renewable energy projects, and raising awareness on climate issues. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and communication skills, with a proven track record in managing teams and projects. You will have a Degree or equivalent in relevant subject area and have the ability to continue professional development.
You will have an excellent knowledge of climate change policy and practice, a track record that demonstrates innovation and leading partnerships to deliver corporate policy/projects. You will have experience of leading a team, providing advice and support to elected members and other senior contacts and experience of managing staff and financial resources.
You will have working knowledge of Microsoft Packages, including Office 365, Word, Excel. You must have a high level of communication skills both written and oral. You will have evidence of delivering detailed presentations to senior representatives from external bodies and the ability to lead multi-disciplinary meetings/groups.
You will need to be able to demonstrate strategic and corporate awareness, advocacy and influencing skills, and present ideas and proposals effectively at senior levels. Clear analytical skills, exploration, evaluation and interpretation of information/opinions and the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders are needed. You will have a commitment to learn and develop and the ability to work out with office times and travel as required.
