About Our Client

Michael Page have been engaged to source a Sustainability and Energy Optimisation Specialist for a global FMCG Manufacturing business. This client has multiple sites across the UK and Europe and supplies its' products globally.

Job Description

The Sustainability & Energy Optimisation Lead will play a pivotal role in driving energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives. Based in Leeds, this position requires a forward-thinking individual to develop and implement strategies for optimising energy use while contributing to a more sustainable future. This is a key role for the business and will have the opportunity make a significant impact on site.

Reporting into the Head of Engineering with support from the group Sustainability function, responsibilities will include:



· Development and implementation of 5yr Sustainability and Energy Consumption Road map

· Work cross functionally with Engineering and Operations team to ensure all teams are aligned on site targets and vision

· Collect data, build report and deliver business cases in line with Roadmap and site targets

· Challenge and influence behaviours

· Actively ensure you are upto date on all legislation and changes to government-led initiatives

· Share best practice with other S&EO specialists across the business and group the Sustainability function and engage with industry leaders, community and other sites to bring new knowledge, innovation, technology, renewable sources and market our brand

· Own weekly and monthly review with internal and external stakeholders, waste, energy, site consumption, project updates

· Champion and be the driving force for the site's 2030 and 2050 carbon reduction and net zero targets



The Successful Applicant

The successful Sustainability and Energy Optimisation specialist will possess a range of the following:



· Proven results developing, leading and implementing sustainability and energy initiatives on site within a manufacturing or industrial setting

· Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, sustainability standards, and best practices

· The ability to work autonomously and prioritise own diary

· Ability to create and strive towards clear and ambitious vision

· Self starter with the ability to work on own initiative

· Strong demonstrable experience of reducing energy consumption across a manufacturing environment

· Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and inspire others towards sustainable practices.

· Strategic and analytical thinker
