Job summary

A leading defence aerospace organisation in Brize Norton seeks an Equipment Maintenance Technician to ensure maintenance and readiness of survival equipment. This contract role requires strong servicing skills, attention to detail, and compliance with safety standards. The successful candidate will work 35 hours per week and earn £20.18 per hour. Background in aerospace or military environments is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in aerospace/aviation/defence sectors.
  • Understanding of FOD prevention and tool control.
  • Must have the right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Service chemical oxygen generators.
  • Inspect, repack, and maintain life vests.
  • Input data into maintenance systems.
  • Conduct daily servicing of Class 3 role equipment.

Skills

Experience in servicing survival and/or role equipment
Ability to interpret technical publications
Competence in using digital tools
High attention to detail
Ability to work independently or in a team
Background in defence aerospace or military MRO
Familiarity with A400M

Job description

Contract Role: Equipment Maintenance Technician

Location: Brize Norton
Nationality Requirement: British Nationals only
IR35 Status: Inside IR35
Contract Duration: Until 15 March 2026 (with potential for extension)
Working Pattern: 35 hours per week, across 4.5 days (between 07:00-19:00, hours set at business discretion)

Rate:

  • £20.18 per hour (PAYE)

Overview:
A leading defence aerospace organisation is seeking four skilled contractors to join its Role Equipment Bay team. These positions are critical to the maintenance and readiness of survival and role-specific aircraft equipment, supporting operational delivery in a high-tempo environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Service chemical oxygen generators in line with OEM and regulatory standards
  • Inspect, repack, and maintain life vests and survival equipment
  • Input accurate data into maintenance systems and technical records
  • Apply corrosion prevention compounds to relevant components
  • Conduct daily servicing of Class 3 role equipment
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and procedural standards
  • Support continuous improvement and maintain 6S workplace standards
  • Proven experience in servicing survival and/or role equipment
  • Ability to interpret technical publications and follow regulated maintenance practices
  • Competence in using digital tools and maintenance data systems
  • High attention to detail and ability to work independently or within a team
  • Background in defence aerospace or military MRO environments
  • Familiarity with A400M or similar military transport platforms
  • Understanding of human factors, FOD prevention, and tool control
  • Maintenance within the aerospace/aviation/defence sectors

Security Requirements:

  • Must have the right to work in the UK
  • Ability to obtain BPSS clearance
