Surveyor - Damp & Mould / Disrepair (Social Housing)
Location: East London
Hours: Full Time

About the Role

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Surveyor to join our responsive repairs and asset management team, with a specific focus on damp & mould investigations, housing disrepair claims, and proactive property inspections within our social housing stock.

This is a key role in ensuring our residents live in safe, well-maintained homes and that we remain compliant with legal standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough property inspections focused on damp, mould, and other disrepair issues

  • Diagnose the root cause of damp/mould and specify effective remedial works

  • Manage and respond to housing disrepair claims, working closely with legal teams and contractors

  • Provide expert technical reports and act as a professional witness if required

  • Liaise with residents, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of issues

  • Monitor contractor performance and ensure works are completed to a high standard

  • Maintain accurate records and update systems in line with compliance requirements

About You
  • RICS qualified - essential
  • Strong technical knowledge of building pathology, especially damp and mould
  • Demonstrable experience in social housing or public sector property surveying
  • Skilled in managing disrepair claims and writing technical reports
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Able to work independently and manage competing priorities
  • Up-to-date understanding of relevant legislation and guidance
