A public authority in Scotland is looking for a Surveying Technician/Senior Surveying Technician to survey and collate property information for council tax and ratings valuation. Ideal candidates should have experience in surveying buildings and land, with strong communication and interpersonal skills being essential. This role requires travel across various locations within the Western Isles. The position offers a salary ranging from £29,717 to £32,557, rising to £35,831 on TC3 grade.

Applications are invited for a Surveying Technician/Senior Surveying Technician at the Board's office at 42-46 Point Street, Stornoway, Isle of Lewis, HS1 2XF.
The Highland and Western Isles Valuation Joint Board is an independent public authority established by The Valuation Joint Boards (Scotland) Order 1995. We provide a professional valuation and electoral registration service for both Highland and Western Isles areas in respect of compilation and maintenance of the Valuation Roll, Valuation (Council Tax) Lists, and Registers of Electors.
You will principally be required to survey, measure and collate property information for the purposes of council tax and rating valuation. You will preferably have experience in the survey and measurement of buildings and land. Familiarity in working with the public will also be an advantage. Good interpersonal, communication and computer skills are essential.
You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within the Western Isles area to meet the operational requirements of the service.
You will be required to undertake a Level 1 (formerly Basic) Disclosure check.
