Surveying Project Manager
Permanent opportunity £40k to £46k

About the role

The role involves surveying customer homes and communal spaces. You will work alongside residents and leaseholders, taking ownership of ensuring repairs are managed from start to finish, and handling issues and complaints that arise before, during, or after works. The role is fast-paced, rewarding, and provides both job and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Ownership of larger Damp and Mould cases, HSSRS cases, and complex projects from inception to completion, ensuring repairs are project managed to meet deadlines and budgets.
  • Surveying and identifying building defects through proper building pathology and testing.
  • Managing cases from initial triage, especially related to HSSRS, from site visit through to project completion.
  • Completing detailed reports and specifications, supporting section 20 notices and Damp and Mould/disrepair claims.
  • Opportunities to develop involvement in procurement, tendering, organization, and management of projects such as insurance claims, fire damage, DFGs, structural movement, and demolition work.
  • Preparing mutual exchange condition reports.
  • Engaging with external stakeholders, including local authorities.
  • Project management activities including planning, pre-build meetings, construction oversight, and budget control.
  • Collaborating with customers and internal teams to ensure timely completion of works and customer support during construction.
  • Contributing to operational delivery of construction projects.
  • Providing excellent customer service, building community relationships, and promoting the organization.
  • Supporting repair and empty homes teams with technical knowledge.
  • Developing quotations and tenders within procurement guidelines.
  • Ensuring subcontractors comply with health and safety standards.
  • Fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement, focusing on right-first-time delivery.

Skills

  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and construction design management practices.
  • Understanding of HHSRS risks and relevant legislation.
  • Familiarity with Schedule of Rates.
  • Formal building qualification such as RICS accreditation, BSc, HNC, HND, or working towards one.
  • Proficiency in IT, including Microsoft Office and Outlook.
