Opportunity
The Survey Engineer will be responsible for organising own workload, scheduling Surveying works and meeting project deadlines for the delivery of Surveying data. Providing technical and administrative services to meet project specifications and dimensional control of construction works.
This role would suit an ambitious, driven individual who embraces the challenge of working within a high performing and supportive team. Experience within the civil engineering industry is essential for this role.
Role Responsibilities
- Carrying out and reporting on SPS and WwTW surveys with a survey crew.
- Liaising with Survey Co-ordinator to ensure all AF01’s (or Wessex equivalent) are completed for the correct date.
- Liaising with any sub-contractor required for site work is arranged and orders in place.
- Liaising with DCWW, Wessex, or designers to address and refine survey scopes and data queries.
- Build reports and liaise with Survey Manager for uploading.
- Assisting in work programme production, to ensure survey crew availability.
- Attending meetings with designers as requested.
- Supervision of survey crews on the Wessex Water framework.
- Pre-site visits on Wessex Water, to assess TM/access requirements.
- Investigating new innovative techniques that can make the team more efficient.
- Provide any other assistance as required to any member of the team.
- Review Asset Method Statements on an annual basis and as and when required, liaising with Survey Manager; Shadowing the Flood Investigation Engineer in preparation for succeeding of the role.
To Be Successful In This Role, You Will
- HND/Degree or equivalent in Surveying or related technical discipline
- Civil engineering and construction experience, preferably in Water
- Hold a relevant CSCS Card
- Experience of survey control networks, including coordinate systems
- Experience of survey monitoring regimes, and interpreting the data produced
- Fully conversant with the use of modern Survey instruments such as: Robotic Total Stations, GPS, Digital Levels & 3D Laser Scanners
- Good IT skills and able to work confidently with MS Office and other system applications
