Job description

Who are we?

Les Foyers de l'enfance are under the responsibility of the Département de Seine-et-Marne, specifically the Directorate General for Solidarity (DGAS).

DGAS handles issues from maternal and child protection, child protection, assistance to the elderly and disabled, to employment and health. It works daily to make the department a territory of solidarity and fight against inequalities.

The departmental children's homes must be able to accommodate minors in difficult situations requiring urgent protective measures, including social nurseries. Their missions include observing, evaluating, and guiding children during their stay.

We are looking for two night supervisors for our children's home located in Meaux.

Your missions

Night supervisors are responsible for ensuring the safety of the children entrusted to us and the premises of the Meaux children's home. They handle emergency movements (e.g., hospital, police station) and support colleagues in their groups when necessary (soliciting groups and / or on-call staff).

Monitoring children and premises

  • Managing surveillance equipment (on-call mobile phone, logbook, group and staff status, key sets),
  • Performing the telephonic duty from 9 : 30 PM to 6 : 45 AM,
  • Checking all groups at the start of shift to ensure their condition,
  • Conducting rounds of the buildings at least three times per night (tracked in a specific log),
  • Performing more frequent rounds if there are particular concerns,
  • Handling technical interventions in case of incidents during working hours. Technical interventions require training, information, and approval from the on-call supervisor.

Support and educational assistance

  • Providing crisis management support,
  • Assisting children in emergency situations within the establishment (including emergency services),
  • Writing incident and concern reports,
  • Transmitting information to ensure consistent care : written and oral communication with day staff and reporting to the head of service.
  • Involvement in thematic working groups,
  • Participation in meetings and institutional events.

Your profile

  • Experience in child protection preferred,
  • Driving license required,
  • Training in SSIAP (fire safety and first aid), PSC1 (first aid), and / or SST (workplace first responder) preferred. PSC1 training can be provided internally if not already certified,
  • Comfortable with the children and able to establish a safe, trusting environment and enforce rules, manage conflicts,
  • Ability to take perspective and remain non-judgmental,
  • Good listening and observation skills,
  • Sense of responsibility, rigor, autonomy.
