Qualifications

  • Qualified Surgical Care Practitioner (SCP) with experience in Robotics.
  • Registered healthcare professional (nurse or ODP) with recent theatre nursing experience.
  • 18 months in a similar autonomous role is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Anaesthetic practitioners and manage clinical areas.
  • Ensure high standards of patient care in a multi-disciplinary setting.
  • Supervise colleagues and support their professional development.

We’re looking for a Surgical Care Practitioner to join our Theatres at London Bridge Hospital - currently rated “Outstanding” by the CQC. The theatres across our facilities, provide a vibrant, exciting, and professional environment where the advance equipment and technology is second to none.

The London Bridge Hospital Campus has 10 Operating theatres, and offers a wide range of specialties from, Cardiac, Ortho, Liver, Neuro, Urology, Spinal and General. Successful candidates will be part of a large theatre team of colleagues, experienced professionals. Reporting to the Theatre Manager, you will lead a team of Anaesthetic practitioners working closely with scrub and recovery colleagues. You will have a strong knowledge and experience in operating theatres with an excellent understanding of the perioperative needs of patients, and a wide knowledge of peri-operative nursing practices and procedures. You must be organised, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with experience of supervising a multi-disciplinary team providing the highest standard of patient care across a varied caseload.

What you’ll bring:

  • Qualified Surgical Care Practitioner (SCP) experienced in Robotics (Da vinchi) is essential.
  • Registration as a healthcare professional (e.g. nurse or ODP) with a related honours degree
  • Recent experience in theatre nursing
  • 18 months working within a similar autonomous role is desirable.
  • An aptitude for clinical and operative practice
  • The ability to effectively manage the clinical area on a day to day basis and plan ahead
