Job summary

Royal Veterinary College is seeking a Surgery Ward Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team. You will be involved in caring for patients in the surgery ward, working with specialists, residents, interns and support staff.

The role emphasises surgical nursing with some exposure to neurology cases, hands-on nursing of orthopaedic, soft tissue and ophthalmology patients, and postoperative rehabilitation assistance.

Qualifications

• RVN with a keen interest in surgical nursing and patient care.
• Experience in handling postoperative rehabilitation tasks is a plus.
• Exposure to neurology cases is beneficial but not required.

Surgery Ward Registered Veterinary Nurse

We have an exciting opportunity for an RVN keen to develop their nursing career in caring for patients in our surgery ward. Working as part of a team of specialist clinicians, residents, interns, RVNs and Patient Care Assistants you will be involved in a range of interesting and challenging cases.

This position is ideal for an RVN keen to develop their nursing career and specialise in surgical nursing with some exposure to neurology cases. You can expect hands on nursing of various surgical conditions including Orthopaedic, Soft tissue and Ophthalmology patients. In addition, you will be involved in assisting with postoperative rehabilitation of patients.

This is a full-time position (35 hours per week), working a range of shifts with occasional night work.

Weekends are 1 in 4 with 2 days off in lieu.

Referral nursing experience is not required as full specialist training and support will be provided.
