Job summary

City St George’s, University of London seeks a surgical clinician-educator to provide academic oversight of surgery placements for the F Year MBBS programme. The post requires leadership across multiple NHS sites to ensure high-quality learning, alignment with GMC outcomes and an equitable student experience.

Qualifications

• Must be a registered medical practitioner with current or recent experience in surgery education.
• Experience leading placement-based learning and coordinating across NHS sites.

Responsibilities

• Take academic responsibility for surgery placement pages on the Canvas VLE, including annual review and updates.
• Represent the surgical specialty in curriculum development and ensure cohesive learning, assessment and feedback.
• Act as a point of contact for placement leads at partner providers and support a high-quality learning environment.
• Support MBBS Quality Team with placement concerns and engage with curriculum-management training.
