Job description

Our client, one of the UK's largest and most successful Surface & Highways Companies, is looking for a Surfacing Site Supervisor to work on a range of surfacing projects such as Highways, Retail, Rail, Aviation, Commercial, and Defence.

The Surfacing Site Supervisor will implement and promote the company's health and safety policy, supervise surfacing works, and assist the Contracts Manager in the day-to-day management and delivery of the project. The supervisor will ensure that the project aligns with safety, quality, cost control, and programme delivery to the client's satisfaction. The candidate must have previous experience in a similar role within Highways or surfacing and hold a valid NRSWA and SMSTS Card.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and comply with all health and safety requirements
• Produce forward programmes for the contracts manager, including material, labour, and plant requirements
• Monitor progress of work programmes and advise on adjustments
• Undertake site inspections and safety tours
• Complete L, P & M returns
• Raise NCRs and provide supporting information
• Manage operations to ensure optimal resource use
• Liaise with commercial and QS teams to enhance contract value
• Possess surfacing and asphalt experience
• Hold CSCS and SMSTS certifications
• Experience in site measurement
• Understanding of CDM regulations and standards
• Experience with commercial elements, capturing costs and value streams
• Good understanding of operational procedures
• Ability to plan works based on programme outputs
