Surface & Highways Site Supervisor

Our client, one of the UK's largest and most successful Surface & Highways Companies, is looking for a Surfacing Site Supervisor to work on a range of surfacing projects including Highways, Retail, Rail, Aviation, Commercial, and Defence.

The Surfacing Site Supervisor will be responsible for implementing and promoting the company's health and safety policies, supervising surfacing works, and assisting the Contracts Manager in the day-to-day management and delivery of projects. The role involves ensuring safety, quality, cost control, and timely delivery to the client's satisfaction. Candidates must have previous experience in a similar role within Highways or surfacing, and hold a valid NRSWA and SMSTS Card.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and comply with all health and safety requirements
• Produce forward programmes including material, labour, and plant requirements
• Monitor progress and advise on schedule movements
• Conduct site inspections and safety tours
• Complete L, P & M Return
• Raise NCRs and provide supporting documentation
• Optimize resource utilization
• Coordinate with commercial and QS teams to maximize contract value
• Ensure surfacing and asphalt experience is applied
• Maintain CSCS, SMSTS certifications
• Perform site measurements
• Understand CDM regulations and standards
• Manage costs and value streams of commercial elements
• Understand operational procedures and programme planning
