Job description

Our client, one of the UK's largest and most successful Surface & Highways companies, is seeking a Surfacing Site Supervisor to oversee various surfacing projects, including Highways, Retail, Rail, Aviation, Commercial, and Defence.

The Surfacing Site Supervisor will be responsible for implementing and promoting the company's health and safety policies, supervising surfacing works, and assisting the Contracts Manager with daily project management and delivery. The role requires ensuring safety, quality, cost control, and adherence to project timelines to meet client satisfaction. Candidates must have prior experience in a similar role within Highways or surfacing, and hold a valid NRSWA and SMSTS card.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and ensure compliance with all Health and Safety requirements
  • Produce forward programmes for the Contracts Manager, including material, labour, and plant requirements
  • Monitor progress of works and advise on schedule adjustments
  • Conduct site inspections and safety tours
  • Complete L, P & M returns
  • Raise NCRs and provide supporting documentation
  • Optimize resource management
  • Liaise with commercial and QS teams to maximize contract value
  • Apply surfacing and asphalt experience
  • Maintain CSCS and SMSTS certifications
  • Experience with site measurement and understanding of CDM regulations and standards
  • Handle commercial aspects, including costs and value streams
  • Understand operational procedures and programme planning
