Position Summary:

As a Surfacing Operative, you should possess a strong sense of teamwork and a flexible approach to work. Success in this role depends on your ability to complete tasks on time, deliver high-quality work, and pay close attention to detail. Teamwork is essential when working within our surfacing squads, with members expected to work independently and show willingness to learn and develop.

This role requires following instructions carefully. It is not suitable for individuals who dislike travelling, working outdoors, or working during night shifts. You will work closely with a team and need to be resourceful.

To excel, you should take pride in your work. You will collaborate with experienced operatives, carrying out tasks as directed by the Foreperson and supporting team members. Maintaining professional work practices, adhering to company policies, and following safety protocols are crucial. Reporting any accidents, incidents, or concerns is of utmost importance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Execute tasks as directed by the Foreperson, ensuring adherence to instructions.
2. Maintain, operate, and ensure the safety of all plant and equipment.
3. Keep personal protective equipment (PPE) in excellent condition.
4. Mentor and support less experienced operatives.
5. Maintain professional working practices and comply with company and safety procedures.
6. Report all accidents, incidents, and concerns affecting quality and safety.

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise:

• CSCS card and driving license are preferred but not essential; comprehensive industry training will be provided.
• Keen interest in the construction materials industry and heavy mobile plant machinery operations.
• A desire to learn and grow within the industry, focusing on safety and quality.
