Surface Training Specialist

Role:

We are looking for an experienced Surface Training Specialist to join our team based in Bristol.

Key Responsibilities:

• Gain a thorough understanding of L3Harris MAPPS IPMS and Platform Onboard Trainer (POBT) technologies and their applicability to Royal Navy Surface Ship training.
• Provide Subject Matter Expertise to the project and customer community as required.
• Assist the Surface Training Manager in the delivery and development of QEC, T26 & T31 IPMS familiarisation courseware, including scenario-based training.
• Assist in delivering IPMS familiarisation (K) courses to Royal Navy and other personnel at various training facilities and locations as directed.
• Identify and exploit further training business opportunities on QEC, T26, and T31, coordinating with project personnel to develop and deliver as required.
• Contribute to the development of future platform training solutions for QEC/Type 26/Type 31 Frigate.
• Support QEC/T26/T31 training solutions development for related projects and programmes.
• Establish effective customer communications and manage key customer expectations.
• Develop and facilitate the acceptance of L3Harris MAPPS training processes and solutions.
• Manage the allocated budget and provide regular updates on performance against the budget.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

• Extensive knowledge of Warship design and operations.
• Experience or understanding of Operational Sea Training or Damage Control Qualifying courses is beneficial.
• Knowledge of Wholeship System Operating Procedures (SOPs), Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs), and Breakdown Drills is beneficial.
• Good understanding of Defence Projects requirements.
• Strong interpersonal, planning, communication, organisational, and coordination skills.
• Proficiency in PC skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project).
• Experience with Royal Navy/Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) is advantageous.
