A leading defence equipment manufacturer is seeking a Surface Mount Circuit Card Operator for a 12-month contract based in Stevenage, Hertfordshire. The role requires prior Surface Mount experience, circuit card assembly skills, and the ability to work independently. The successful candidate will perform assembly tasks and ensure compliance with product certification and quality standards. The pay is £26.12 per hour (Umbrella) or £19.46 per hour PAYE.

Morson are recruiting on behalf a leading defence equipment manufacturers based at their facility in Stevenage, Hertfordshire. Candidate MUST have prior Surface Mount experience to be considered. This is a contract role initially for 12 months although highly likely to be long-term.
£26.12 per hour (Umbrella) or £19.46 per hour PAYE (holiday pay is paid on top) *role is INSIDE IR35* Monday - Friday 37 hours +
Role Overview:
The Surface Mount Circuit Card Operator will be responsible for the carrying out of machine manufacturing and self-certification tasks within the deployed business, in accordance with product certification procedures, defined workmanship standards, allocated budgets and timescales to meet project objectives.
Specific responsibilities include:
• Surface mount and through-hole component assembly
• Hand soldering Circuit Card Assemblies to IPC 610 & 001
• Fine soldering under magnification
• Operations of equipment, to build circuit card assemblies including:
• DEK screen print machine
• MyCronic Pick and place machine
• ERSA reflow solder oven
• Koh Young Automated optical inspection
• Undertake detailed standard assembly / manufacturing activities, undertaking all work to requisite procedures, quality standards, safety requirements and timescales
• Contribute to the efficient movement of work and information in the manufacturing area
• Adhere in all activities to agreed standards and behaviours
• Comply with all health and safety requirements
Skillset/experience required:
Essential skills:
• MUST have prior Surface Mount experience
• Prior knowledge of circuit card assembly
• Must have manufacturing experience
• Dexterity for fine work
• Read and interpret layouts
• Follow instructions
• Willing to work flexible shift patterns
• Attention to detail
• Work on own with minimal supervision
• Flexible
Desirable skills:
• PC literate
