Job summary

London Southend Airport is hiring a Surface Access Agent for 20 hours per week on a fixed-term contract until 30 November 2026. You will support passenger journeys by managing car parks, rail access, and customer queries, while operating gates, pay machines and CCTV monitoring.

You will work as part of a dedicated team across day-to-day shifts, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and bank holidays, to ensure a seamless passenger experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers face to face, over the phone, via email, and over the intercom.
• Update all notice boards with current information.
• Operate the ticket gates at the train station and the car park barriers.
• Empty and load the pay machines.
• Monitor the CCTV and conduct patrols of the surface access areas.
• Undertake other activities to support the needs of the business as required.
• Work shifts during operating hours, including early mornings, late nights, overnight, weekends and bank holidays.

About the role

Our Surface Access team are responsible for providing our passengers with a smooth journey to and from our airport. They take care of the car parks & the rail station and support our passengers with any queries, ensuring that they receive the seamless, quick and friendly experience that they have come to expect here at London Southend Airport. The pay range for this role is:

13.10 - 13.10 GBP per hour (London Southend Airport)
