Job summary

Brunel in London is seeking a SURF Lead for Flowlines, Spools & Jumpers. The role leads the flowlines engineering team, reviews contractor deliverables, and ensures alignment with project specs, schedule and safety requirements. You will coordinate across SPS, FPSO interfaces, and field operations while guiding fabrication, installation and pre-commissioning activities.

Qualifications

• 15+ years experience in rigid flowlines, spools and jumpers design on offshore SURF deep-water EPCI projects.
• Good knowledge of DNV codes and international standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead the EPSCC Flowlines, Rigid Spools and Jumpers engineering activities, ensuring compliance with project specs and procedures.
• Review and validate progress from SURF Contractor and Suppliers, proposing remedial actions as needed.
• Manage technical documentation for flowlines and structures, and support interfaces with SPS and Field Operations.
• Support fabrication, transport, installation and pre-commissioning activities for the flowline system.
• Identify unsafe design or constructability issues and escalate appropriately.

Job: SURF Lead - Flowlines, Spools & Jumpers

Location: London

OVERVIEW

Will be responsible for all the layout, P&ID/PFD, flowlines and associated structures, rigid spools and jumpers design activities of the SURF EPSCC (Engineering, Procurement, Supply, Construction & Commissioning) Project. This will include but not be limited to reviewing, approving, preparing and managing all studies, drawings specifications, procedures from the SURF Contractor, and its Supplier related to the Service Holder field of expertise during the EPSCC phases. Role will report to the SURF Technical Manager and support the SURF team and liaise with other project teams (SPS & Field Operations).

ACTIVITIES

• Promote & comply in all activities with applicable safety instructions and other company H3SE&Q rules,implement and control H3SE rules and requirements within his area of responsibility. Ensure all flowlines technical documentation and SURF Contractor activities comply with H3SE&Q requirements and highlight any potential deviations. Ensure safe working practices are implemented along all phases of project
• Provide high level support services to ensure compliance with regards to the Company Ethics and “Code of Conduct” policy, promote and enforce the Anti-Corruption Program within the Project,
• Be responsible for all EPSCC Flowlines, Rigid Spools and Jumpers engineering activities,
• Be responsible for preparation and timely delivery of the flowline systems:

-Productions system: 4-off flowlines and associated structures, 2-off rigid spools & 19-off rigid jumpers as well as their associated mitigation structures (free span, buckling and walking)

• Define, develop, issue and maintain all necessary technical documentation related to the flowlines and associated structures design, spools and jumpers design, procurement & fabrication activities. Support and participate to the development and maintenance of Project Management main documents (SOR, FDP, PEP, PQP, Risks, etc.),
• Ensure follow-up / review / validation of progress performed by SURF Contractor and its Suppliers with regards to his/her Supplier and analyze/report drifts that could occur and propose remedial solutions
• Supervise and control the detailed engineering by timely reviewing the disciplines-related documentation issued by SURF Contractor (technical documentation / queries / derogation requests...), in order to ensure compliance with Project Specifications and Procedures (when applicable), international norms and standards with the objective to ensure respect of the schedule and to optimize costs without impacting required level of Quality and Safety. This includes reviewing the in-place and installation analysis developed by the SURF Contractor and its Suppliers
• Lead the flowline team which will be constituted of one additional spool & jumper engineer
• Assist on all technical matters related to fabrication, transport, installation and pre-commissioning of the flowline system
• Raise consequently necessary comments and highlight unsafe design, deviations, unacceptable / unjustified design choices, constructability issues
• Be the main point of contact and technical reference vis-à-vis Contractor(s) for flowlines and associated structures, spools and jumpers matters, and follow-up the Suppliers providing equipment for these items.
• Ensure technical compliance throughout the Project life of the engineered, procured, fabricated, tested and installed flowlines, spools and jumpers. Ensure all technical, QA/QC and H3SE project policies and requirements are duly implemented and ensure Contractors’ compliance with contractual requirements in all areas. Anticipate and ensure adequate and timely reporting to the Technical Manager of any concern, issue or potential deviation.Propose timely and adequate solutions and optimizations.
• Ensure that his/her work is in line with the flowlines design specialists of Company Headquarters,
• Liaise with other package teams (SPS, FPSO) for interface matters with the support of Interface Managers and leads,
• Organize and participate to Project Reviews,
• Assist and support the Technical Manager and the SURF Package Manager on all aspects of the flowlines’,spools & jumpers activities related to project execution and contracts management, and with the relations with Partners
• Support and / or participate in the Installation Phase, tests, commissioning and handover; assisting, when necessary, the Installation team during all the offshore work campaigns.
• Gather ‘lessons learnt’ and assist in the formalization of the close-out report

CONTEXT & ENVIRONMENT

The activity takes place in the context of the Project Execution Phase of a major very large Deep Water greenfield Project in Namibia . The Project will be developed with the objectives to maximize economical results by optimizing the reserves, the schedule, reducing the costs and the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emission, while maintaining the technical quality of the installations, with high H3SE requirements and focus.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Experience within project: at least 15 years experience in rigid flowlines, spools and jumpers design during offshore oil & gas SURF deep water EPCI projects
• Good knowledge of relevant codes (DNV), and preferably of international standards & specifications,
