Job summary

Aviva plc in the United Kingdom is seeking a Surety Underwriter to assess and manage risk while building trusted relationships with brokers and customers across the UK market. You’ll underwrite new and existing Surety business, maintain portfolio performance and work with colleagues across underwriting, operations and risk to support Aviva's Surety proposition.

This role offers growth in a specialist area with a market-leading insurer.

You might already be an established Surety Underwriter looking for your next challenge, or have relevant experience in a specialty underwriting environment and be ready to develop your expertise in a growing market.

A bit about the job

Our Surety team helps businesses secure the guarantees they need to win contracts, deliver projects and grow with confidence. As a Surety Underwriter, you'll assess and manage risk while building trusted relationships with brokers and customers across the UK market.

You'll be responsible for underwriting new and existing business, maintaining portfolio performance and delivering positive customer outcomes. Working closely with colleagues across underwriting, operations and risk, you'll help support the continued growth of Aviva's Surety proposition. This is an opportunity to make a real impact in a specialist area while developing your career with a market-leading insurer.

Skills and experience we're looking for

• Experience underwriting Surety business, including both new business and renewals.
• Strong understanding of UK regulatory requirements, contracts and legislation relevant to Surety underwriting.
• Ability to manage and grow a profitable portfolio while making sound underwriting decisions.
• Strong relationship-building skills, with experience working closely with brokers, customers and internal stakeholders.
• Experience balancing commercial opportunities with a focus on delivering good customer outcomes.
