Overview

The Scottish Land Court & Lands Tribunal for Scotland based within Supreme Courts - Edinburgh, have a fantastic opportunity to join the team as an Administrative Officer on a full time, fixed term basis until 31 March 2026 with the possibility of extension and/or conversion to permanency thereafter.

Responsibilities
  • Administrative Officers carry out a variety of general administrative duties to progress cases through the court or provide support to other functions within the Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service.
  • To undertake a number of general administrative duties including:
  • Processing and distributing incoming mail to colleagues
  • Creating and updating records on our in-house computer system and data input
  • Producing court documents
  • Preparing files for hearings
  • General photocopying and filing
  • Dealing with numerical calculations
  • Answering queries via phone, email and in person
  • Accounting for monies in accordance with financial guidelines
  • Undertaking light portering duties as required
  • Assisting during court proceedings if required
Additionally you
  • will have regular contact with court users, including members of the Judiciary and the legal profession. As such, you be required to competently answer queries giving consistent and reliable advice.
  • will work within a team with regular management support and will be responsible for your own time.
  • may be required to provide advice to colleagues and carry out limited supervision of others.
  • will assist in clearing up of courts/hearings by issuing letters and orders as necessary.
  • process and enter payments onto computer system;
  • provide excellent customer service.
  • undertake such duties as may reasonably be requested within the scope of the post.
