Overview
The Scottish Land Court & Lands Tribunal for Scotland based within Supreme Courts - Edinburgh, have a fantastic opportunity to join the team as an Administrative Officer on a full time, fixed term basis until 31 March 2026 with the possibility of extension and/or conversion to permanency thereafter.
Responsibilities
- Administrative Officers carry out a variety of general administrative duties to progress cases through the court or provide support to other functions within the Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service.
- To undertake a number of general administrative duties including:
- Processing and distributing incoming mail to colleagues
- Creating and updating records on our in-house computer system and data input
- Producing court documents
- Preparing files for hearings
- General photocopying and filing
- Dealing with numerical calculations
- Answering queries via phone, email and in person
- Accounting for monies in accordance with financial guidelines
- Undertaking light portering duties as required
- Assisting during court proceedings if required
Additionally you
- will have regular contact with court users, including members of the Judiciary and the legal profession. As such, you be required to competently answer queries giving consistent and reliable advice.
- will work within a team with regular management support and will be responsible for your own time.
- may be required to provide advice to colleagues and carry out limited supervision of others.
- will assist in clearing up of courts/hearings by issuing letters and orders as necessary.
