Canal & River Trust is seeking enthusiastic volunteers to enhance visitor experiences at Pocklington Canal. This flexible role involves engaging with visitors to gather feedback through surveys. No prior experience is needed, and training will be provided. Join us to make a positive impact in your community!
We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help gather valuable feedback from visitors at Pocklington Canal Head (near York Road A1079). Your conversations will give visitors a chance to share what they love, what they’d like to see changed, and how we can make the Pocklington Canal even more welcoming.
This is a flexible volunteering opportunity that suits people of all ages and backgrounds. Whether you can spare a few hours a week or just a couple of sessions a month, your contribution will make a real difference. You’ll need to be confident using a tablet so you can record responses, but no other previous knowledge or experience is needed. We’ll provide a comprehensive training session before you start, so you’ll be confident and ready to gather feedback.
So, if you enjoy talking to people and want to play a part in improving the Pocklington Canal, we’d love to hear from you!
Our Supporter volunteers ensure that the day-to-day nuts and bolts of the waterways happen, whether that’s monitoring activities on the towpath or supporting the running of teams and processes behind the scenes. This can include working with our Social Media Team, assisting with location and filming for productions, supporting our teams within offices, or conducting audits on the towpath.
