Job description

We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help gather valuable feedback from visitors at the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct. Your conversations will give visitors a chance to share what they love, what they’d like to see changed, and how we can make the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct even more welcoming.

Your duties will involve:

  1. Observing and noting the behaviours and general profile of visitors as they explore the site
  2. Approaching visitors in a friendly, engaging, and welcoming manner
  3. Inviting visitors to take part in a short survey, clearly explaining its purpose
  4. Using a tablet to read out survey questions and accurately record visitor responses
  5. Thanking visitors for their time and wishing them a pleasant onward journey
  6. Following guidance on health, safety, and data privacy
  7. Reporting any issues or feedback to your designated contact at Canal & River Trust

This is a flexible volunteering opportunity that suits people of all ages and backgrounds. Whether you can spare a few hours a week or just a couple of sessions a month, your contribution will make a real difference. You’ll need to be confident using a tablet so you can record responses, but no other previous knowledge or experience is needed. We’ll provide a comprehensive training session before you start, so you’ll be confident and ready to gather feedback.

So, if you enjoy talking to people and want to play a part in improving Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, we’d love to hear from you!
