Overview

Supporting Improvement Advisor - Secondary - Hybrid working. Start Date: January 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter. Salary: £58,400 - £62,634, Soulbury 13-16 (plus 3 SPA to SP19).

This is a permanent post for an experienced secondary school leader.

Role and responsibilities

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced senior education leader with a secondary school teaching background to broaden their professional experiences by working within the Education and Youth department at Flintshire County Council. Under the direction of the Secondary Core Lead, you will use both your leadership skills and education expertise as part of a wider team in the provision of local authority school improvement services in Flintshire. Working in collaboration with schools, you will be responsible for providing high quality support to school leaders in areas such as Teaching and Learning, curriculum design, raising standards and implementation of change. We are excited to develop a school improvement model that supports school to school collaborative working and the successful candidate will play a critical role in this area. In addition to working with schools, you will also have the opportunity to work on a national basis with our partner agencies and organisations.

Requirements and preferences

Welsh speaking and writing skills are desirable for this role.
