Cardiff Council is seeking an experienced Team Leader for the Supported Lodgings and WIR Service within Children’s Services. The successful candidate will oversee a small team of support workers, ensure quality assurance, and play a vital role in supporting children in a social care setting. The suitable applicant should be able to demonstrate that they meet the requirements for the Grade 7 Team Leader role as described in the Job Description and Person Specification.
The responsibilities of the team are to recruit, assess and support Supported Lodgings providers, and assess and provide direct support to When I’m Ready Carers. Both are evolving schemes and the successful candidate will have a lead role in driving forward best practice and process within the teams.
The Team Leader will be responsible for a team of Grade 6 Senior Support Workers and Grade 5 Support Workers. In addition to a small complex assessment caseload and recruiting providers for both schemes. You will be responsible for Quality Assurance of assessments and reports completed within the team.
The successful applicant should ideally demonstrate that they have knowledge of work relating to children/young people in social care setting.
Applications are welcomed from candidates with a Degree or equivalent qualification. Previous supervisory experience is essential.
The successful applicant will need to be able to demonstrate strong leadership skills and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. The ability to be able to make decisions in an environment of competing demands and work collaboratively with partner agencies.
