Job summary

Morgan Hunt UK Limited is seeking a committed Supported Learning Lecturer for an Essex college, starting in September. You will plan engaging lessons and support learners with additional needs to build confidence, life skills and independence.

Collaborating with learning support staff and other college teams, you will help learners achieve their EHCP outcomes and personal targets in a supportive environment with ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

  • Experience teaching learners with SEND or disabilities.
  • Qualified teacher with PGCE/Cert Ed/DTLLS or equivalent.
  • Strong communication and classroom management.
  • Ability to differentiate learning to meet diverse needs.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver creative, inclusive lessons tailored to individual learner needs.
  • Support learners' academic, personal and social development.
  • Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
  • Monitor progress and celebrate achievements.
  • Support EHCP outcomes and targets.
  • Develop learners' confidence, communication and independence.
  • Collaborate with support staff, parents, carers and external professionals.
  • Prepare learners for adulthood, employment and progression.
  • Maintain learner records and contribute to reviews.

We're looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Supported Learning Lecturer to join a supportive Further Education college in the Essex area this September.

The Opportunity

As a Supported Learning Lecturer, you'll deliver engaging and inclusive lessons that support learners to achieve their individual goals and EHCP outcomes. You'll create a positive learning environment where students feel valued, encouraged and empowered to succeed.

Working closely with Learning Support Assistants and wider college teams, you'll play an important role in helping learners develop confidence, independence and essential life skills.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Planning and delivering creative and engaging lessons tailored to individual learner needs
  • Supporting learners with their academic, personal and social development
  • Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Monitoring learner progress and celebrating achievements
  • Supporting learners to achieve their EHCP outcomes and individual targets
  • Developing learners' confidence, communication and independence skills
  • Working collaboratively with support staff, parents, carers and external professionals
  • Encouraging learners to prepare for adulthood, employment and future progression opportunities
  • Maintaining accurate learner records and contributing to annual reviews where required
What We're Looking For
  • Experience teaching learners with SEND, learning difficulties or disabilities
  • A recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS or equivalent
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills
  • A positive, patient and learner focused approach
  • Passion for inclusive education and supporting learner success
  • Ability to differentiate learning to meet a variety of needs
  • Experience within Further Education or Supported Learning settings is desirable
