Position Available: Supportability Engineer

Location: Gloucestershire (1 or 2 days onsite)

Experience needed: We're seeking an experienced engineer with expertise in Supportability Engineering techniques. A strong knowledge of ILS standards and familiarity with customer environments is essential. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are also required for effective collaboration.

About the role:

We are seeking a Supportability Engineer to join our Customer Support & Services team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading work packages aimed at influencing product design for support and developing cost-effective support solutions for our global customers.

You will work in an integrated project team during the design and development phase of products, leveraging your through-life support knowledge and capabilities to meet customer support requirements. You will serve as the key focal point for progressing design for support objectives and exploring new and existing technologies to facilitate through-life support.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead work packages focused on designing products for support and developing cost-effective solutions
  2. Conduct Level of Repair Analysis (LORA), Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA), and Life Cycle Cost (LCC) analysis
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Reliability, Human Factors, Training, etc.) to integrate supportability into the design
  4. Ensure compliance with Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) standards like Def Stan 00-600 and ASD S3000L
  5. Drive the use of new technologies to enhance through-life support and customer satisfaction

What we need from you:

  • Strong understanding of Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) standards and methodologies
  • Proven experience applying Supportability Engineering techniques (LORA, MTA, LCC)
  • Experience working in a dynamic design environment with the ability to collaborate across functions
  • Experience within the aerospace or defence industry would be a bonus, but not essential
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration with internal teams and external partners
