Job Role: Support Worker

The Support Worker will be expected to help and assist the team with day-to-day routines, including personal care and feeding.

The Support Worker must have at least 6 months of experience in care and possess a compassionate attitude.

Support Workers assist with the daily care of patients in homes, hospitals, or patients' own homes.

Support Workers are vital in hospitals, care homes, and clinics. If you enjoy caring for people and making a positive difference, this could be the role for you.

Previous experience and/or qualifications in care are essential.

As a Support Worker, you will work under the supervision of nursing staff and alongside other Support Workers.

Your duties may include:

• Helping patients with washing, showering, or dressing
• Assisting with feeding
• Making and changing beds
• Turning patients to prevent pressure sores
• Talking to patients to reduce anxiety
• Helping patients move around
• Assisting with toileting needs
• Maintaining tidiness of the ward or patient's home
• Managing supplies and equipment

Your work may involve using mobility aids and escorting patients between departments. With experience, you may participate in training new healthcare assistants.
