Job description

An independent and friendly elderly couple, living at home in Galashiels, is looking for cheerful personal assistants for weekend cover and relief cover. The role is to provide personal care, meal provision 2 visits a day to enable and support the couple to live at home. Days and times can be to suit or shared.

Terms: HOURS/TIMES ARE FLEXIBLE TO SUIT BOTH PARTIES

Hours per week: Saturday and Sunday, joint visits 9 hours total

• Hours of work ideally: around 10am for 1.25 hours each total 2.5 hrs (breakfast/lunch combined) & around 4.00pm for 1 hour each total 2 hrs (teatime/bedtime combined)
• £13.60 per hour
• Paid annual leave entitlement of 5.6 weeks pro rata
• Probationary period of 6 months

• To support an elderly couple to ensure their safety and well-being
• To support with personal care needs
• To support with general care needs like eating and drinking
• Assist with pain patch
• To develop a positive relationship with the clients and their family
